Summer Activities in Breckenridge, Colorado Posted on August 19, 2018 - 9:03 pm by Stacy Sanchez Summer Activities in Breckenridge, Colorado Hiking Mayflower Gulch This post is about Summer Activities in Breckenridge, Colorado. And, this is a website and blog about homes for sale and properties in Summit County. What we do is help families buy and sell, and live their dreams. If you’ve visited once, or a few times, you’ll find something new in the following list. This list comes from a dialogue from a friend who reached out with some questions about where to go and what to do. Her family owns a home locally and wanted to get some fresh ideas on how to explore the Rocky Mountains. I was happy to share what I’ve experienced over the years This post comes a bit late, but that’s because we’ve had a busy summer, so bookmark it for later. We’ve been working with clients, remodeling details, and a nights of interior design homework that now I am happy to share that Dina is now certified through the Interior Design Institute. What that means for our clients is that we can now add value to our relationship regarding the upkeep and interior aspects of the property. More about that later, for now let’s check out the list of things to do! Family-friendly Summer Bucket List Our conversation started out like this: Stacy…hope you are doing well. I am going to be out there for 3 weeks from June 30-July 23rd. I would love to meet up. Also…do you mind sending me a list of some of your favorite things to do…especially if they are some of your insider secrets;). We have done quite a few things…but I am always looking for new ideas of things to do either in Breckenridge or in summit county. What have you done that you really liked or didn’t like? Age / ability recommendations? My kids are aged 13,9 and 6:) I wrote back : “What have you done that you’d recommend for others? I might write a blog with a list of basic stuff as a starting point and we can go from there.” Her response blew me away. Her list is a classic list of things that every family should have as their own Summer Bucket List for Breckenridge. This is how she sent her reply. A numbered list. Perfect for a blog, so I just had to share. Feed the chipmunks at Sapphire Point Bike downhill from Vail pass and stop for lunch in Copper Hike the Fairy Forest and then walk around the lake / play in the teepee / then finish the hike down under the snowflake lift Tuesdays we go to Keystone for the Kid’s Discovery Days. Vail, to either the farmers market or the outdoor amphitheater. Last year we saw ET. We send our kids to camp on Wednesdays at the Breck Rec Center as they do the excursions with the kids on Wednesdays. The moms and I usually do an adult activity(go to the spa at the Grand Lodge-I think that is what is called…up near peak 7. We have also gone white water rafting and zip-lining. I have also done I think it is called the McGullough Gulch hike (I think your wife had it on a blog), as well as some hike called maybe Blue River? We have gone to the Breckenridge theater after eating happy hour at Hearthstone. We have crepes from the crepe stand…which is always a must do. Summit County Summer Bucket List When I responded, I made a bullet point list of activities for her to research and look up. There are so many blogs, articles and photos of these places online, so be sure to check out classics like the Town of Breckenridge website, Trip Advisor, Mountain Project and MTB project. Breckenridge, Colorado – International Snow Sculpting Competition Posted on January 3, 2018 - 9:12 pm by Stacy Sanchez Breckenridge, Colorado – International Snow Sculpting Competition The Breckenridge, Colorado – International Snow Sculpting Competition is an annual event that draws thousands of locals and visitors to the core of the historic district in downtown Breck. Teams brave the sun, cold and wind of a high alpine environment to work with tons of snow, stomped on by hundreds of volunteers to create a square blank canvas of solid snow. Creativity, hard work and execution come together over a week of carving before the time limit and judging. I’ve seen some delicate pieces crash before the judging. If you can see the teams working on the sculpture before the deadline, I would highly recommend it. It’s fun to see the different roles that team members take. You can see it’s a collective effort from a group of dedicated people working with a temporary medium, and producing amazing exhibits that brings families together to spend time together. It’s one of my favorite events in Breckenridge, just for its originality and uniqueness. Breck Snow Sculptures 2017: The Blank Canvases Watch this video on YouTube Breck Snow Sculptures Video and Photo Albums I’ve shared videos to the blocks and then to a longer, carving section of clips. The final designs are showed at the end. But, I wanted to show the artists at work. Because that’s how I saw them. It was fun to put these together, and I try to put out an album or group of images of both carving in action, and final designs, so please come back to this blog and our social profiles to see more fun images of the snow sculptures in Breck and other mountain life scenery, community info and Summit County, Colorado MLS highlights and featured homes. Town of Breckenridge – #1 Place to Visit and Ski in Colorado Posted on October 25, 2017 - 7:20 pm by Stacy Sanchez Town of Breckenridge – #1 Place to Visit and Ski in Colorado Recently ranked by U.S. News and World Report, Town of Breckenridge is the #1 Place to Visit and Ski in Colorado! Of course we’re biased as we’re lucky enough to live and work in Breck. But, if you’ve ever been here, then you know how easy it is to see Breckenridge make another top ten list. If you’ve never been, Breck is a real ski town, with a handful of slopes reaching down into the town streets. The free bus ride makes it easy to get around if you don’t want to drive, and our other adjacent towns in Summit County add to a mountain community unlike any other in the Rocky Mountains. Yes, Crested Butte, Steamboat and Telluride are amazing, but they are further away from DIA and the urban amenities of Denver, Boulder and Colorado Springs. Contact us with questions about any of these ski towns, and which one might be best for you. If your family is a ski-loving mountain tribe that loves modern extras with a rustic touch, then Breckenridge is up and coming in many regards. I was surprised to see all the different lists that Breck was on. Click on the following links to see more and learn about how one of Summit County’s favorite towns is enjoyed by many. Its down-to-earth and friendly atmosphere has also endured its transformation from a silver- and gold-mining town to one of the country’s most beloved skiing destinations. What’s more, Breck – as it’s called by locals – is a quick drive from other popular Colorado destinations, including Vail, which is 40 miles northwest, and Denver, which is 80 miles northeast. Winter days in Breck are defined by runs on the Tenmile Range and nights spent refueling at downtown restaurants and bars – not to mention a collection of breweries and even a distillery. In the summer, winter sports are replaced with hiking and cycling. But no matter the season, the majesty of a Breckenridge sunset and star-studded night sky is a wonder to behold – and worth coming back to year after year.
