This is the kind of home where you won’t have to drive much to explore the outdoors because you’ll have trails right outside your back door. You could pedal your bike or click into nordic skis and be in the Frisco Peninsula Recreation Area. During the summer, there’s a skateboard park, and downhill biking and bmx style bike park. The winter brings a sledding hill and beginner area for snowboarding and skiing. It’s a bunny hill, and once the basics are mastered, you can then upgrade to the bigger resorts nearby. Copper Mountain is one way, the Keystone Resort another, and the Breckenridge Ski Resort is just to the south on Highway 9.
You can get in a quick walk with a short out and back hike, or hop on the road bike and ride to Vail. You could connect the Miner’s Creek area with the Peaks Trail and ride all the way to Breck. You could even walk all the way up Peak One for a summit climb if you were motivated. You could pull a kayak to the lake shore and put in. This location is in the epicenter of Summit County and would be a great choice for any outdoor enthusiasts looking for a variety of options out the back door.
